Flexion-Distraction, developed by Dr. James Cox in the 1960s, is a gentle, safe, and controlled treatment for spinal pain that decreases intradiscal pressure and adds motion to spinal joints. It can treat various conditions, including disc herniations, headaches, neck and arm pain, low back pain, leg pain, facet syndrome, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, and more.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) uses handheld instruments to detect and release fascia adhesions, scars, and restrictions in soft tissue, improving muscle and joint range of motion by breaking up adhesions and remodeling soft tissue. While effective for conditions like tendinitis, sprains, and scar tissue, it can cause side effects such as slight pain, bruising, and petechiae, and should not be performed on individuals with open wounds, thrombophlebitis, uncontrolled hypertension, or infection-related inflammation.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of slender, painless needles into the skin at various points to relieve pain and improve body function. It restores harmony to the body’s energy field by stimulating specific points, enhancing the circulatory, nervous, muscular, digestive, and genitourinary systems.
Is Acupuncture Painful?
Acupuncture needles are much smaller than hypodermic needles and cause minimal sensation, often less than a mosquito bite, sometimes resulting in a tingling feeling.
What Conditions Can Be Treated?
Acupuncture can treat over 100 conditions, as listed by the World Health Organization, affecting all physiological functions. Treatment varies from 2-4 times per week over 8-16 visits, with some patients feeling immediate improvement and others noticing effects after several sessions.
What is Kinesio Taping?
Developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase, kinesiology taping uses a latex-free elastic tape that gently supports muscles and joints, serving as a reminder to maintain proper alignment during movement. It can be worn for several days, even in water, but should only be left on geriatric patients and infants for 24 hours.
What is Kinesio Taping Good For?
Kinesiology tape supports muscle function, improves blood and lymph circulation, corrects joint movement, and relieves pain. It is effective but should be used as part of the rehabilitation process, not as a permanent solution.
Most people neglect their bodies, pushing themselves to the point where they believe only surgeries and medications can help. Our mission is to help you understand and listen to your body’s signals.
By focusing on corrective therapy, neuromuscular therapy, trigger point, and myofascial techniques, we efficiently treat issues like whiplash, TMJD, headaches, and migraines.
